Administration

The San Pablo Police Department Administration is currently comprised of Chief Ron P. Raman, Lieutenant Brian Bubar, Lieutenant Mike Gancasz , Lieutenant John Benone, Lieutenant Shawn Ray, Lieutenant Dan Wiegers and Police Executive Assistant Tracey L. Thebodeau.  The command staff collectively represent nearly 80 years of continuing San Pablo police experience. 

The Chief of Police is the Chief Executive of the Department, and is responsible for its overall operations and personnel. The Chief is also responsible for ensuring the San Pablo Lytton Casino complies with their applicable tribal gaming code. 

Lieutenant Bubar is responsible for Investigations, Community Outreach, Priority Oriented Policing, Code Enforcement, and is our Public Information Officer (PIO).

Lieutenant Gancasz is responsible for Training, Uniforms/Equipment, Fleet Management, Policy, Legal/Civil Litigation, Building, and Technology.

Lieutenant Benone is responsible for Services/Records, Hiring/Backgrounds, Recruitment, EOC, Property & Evidence, and CAD/RMS.

Lieutenant Ray
is responsible for Patrol (Staffing/Scheduling), SWAT, Hostage Negotiations Team, K-9, and Traffic.

Lieutenant Wiegers
is responsible for Patrol (Staffing/Scheduling), Field Training Program (FTP), Bike Patrol, Social Media Team, Jailers, and our Explorers and Cadets.
