The Priority Workplan is a policy making document established by majority vote of the City Council for purposes of providing policy direction for implementation by the City Manager. Periodic amendments are made to the plan, with more major updates every year or alternating years.
The Workplan consists of three essential components:
Mission Statement (Affirmed November 1, 2017)
Major Policy Goals (March 1, 2019)
Top Council Priorities (March 1, 2019)
On February 11, 2019, the City Council held a Workshop under a Special City Council Meeting format to discuss and develop a Strategic Plan and Priority Workplan Update to cover the period of FY 2019-21.
At the end of the Workshop on February 11th, the City Manager was directed by unanimous minute action vote to prepare a Final Workplan document to include the following Major Policy Goals (in alphabetical order), and corresponding policy items as presented by the Executive Leadership Group for final City Council review and consideration, as follows:
And on March 4, 2019, the City Council adopted a complete FY 2019-21 City Council Priority Workplan, effective March 1, 2019. That document can be found here.
