County Fire and EMS Services at Fire Station #70 in San Pablo

Fire Station #70 of San Pablo Closing? Since January 2013, five ConFire fire stations in various parts of central and eastern Contra Costa County have been closed; Contra Costa Board of Supervisors have already approved a 6th fire station closure possible in West County on January 1, 2014. Fire Station #70 in San Pablo could be the one selected for closure. Attend a Special Meeting of City Council to learn more and provide your input on Tuesday, October 15th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. On February 25, 2014, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors received a Final Report from their consultant, Fitch and Associates, on an independent Fire Service study of Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (CCCFPD).  Although no action was taken by the County BOS o address the current and unsustainable financial and operational crisis for the CCCFPD, the County BOS directed the County Fire Chief to return in the next 30 days with recommendations.
