Our mission is to provide service and advice to City departments to attract, develop, and retain diverse and qualified personnel. Our goal is to promote a positive and supportive work environment that focuses on the delivery of customer-responsive human resources services in the areas of:
- Recruitment and selection
- Employee benefit administration
- Labor negotiations and relations
- Job classification and compensation administration
- Employee development and training including wellness programs
- Workers’ compensation administration
- Safety training and compliance
- Personnel policy development and analysis
Risk Management/Workers’ Compensation
The City’s Risk Management function in the City Manager's Office/Human Resources Division administers workers’ compensation claims processing and insurance/liability responsibilities related to the City’s member agency participation in the self-insured Municipal Pooling Authority (MPA) of Northern California. City Employee Training Program
In addition to managing the City’s human resources daily functions and operations, CMO/HR staff also administers the City’s employee training programs to meet all City operational requirements, and to minimize HR liability/risk to the City.
The City of San Pablo is a workplace where employees are given the opportunity to develop their skills by maximizing personal and group performance.
