Rent Registry

The San Pablo City Council has adopted an ordinance that establishes a rent registry program. The ordinance requires property owners to register residential rental units in the City of San Pablo, and to provide other additional information regarding such rental units, within thirty (30) days of leasing, renting, or otherwise offering such units for occupancy. Property owners will also pay an annual registration fee to defray the costs of administering the rent registry program. It will be the obligation of the property owner to renew the registration, including payment of the fee, on an annual basis in order to avoid penalties. The data and information collected by the City will be received in confidence, and only limited rent registry information will be made available to the public. The information will inform the City about housing stock, trends, and the rental market generally.
