[ARCHIVED] Is getting around West County getting harder? If so, we want to hear from you!

Is getting around West County getting harder? Is traffic on I-80 at every hour of the day getting you down? Better transit may help.

The West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) has been working on a study to improve transit options. If you live, work, or travel anywhere in West County and are interested in expanding your transportation options, we want to hear from you!

WCCTAC strongly encourages members of the public to attend local Council presentations in February and March and/or to take a short online survey about the possibilities that are under consideration. Attend the local Council meeting that is most convenient for you, and please invite your friends and neighbors! (The same information will be provided at each presentation).

If you can’t make it to one of the presentations, we still want to hear your opinion. Starting on February 21, we’ll post a brief survey at www.WestCountyTransitStudy.com. You can complete the survey at your convenience (by March 26) and tell us your thoughts on these possible alternatives, and whether these transit options will be practical for you to use.

Survey participants will have a chance to win $15 Clipper cards from 511ContraCosta.org!

Want to tell us more? No problem. Submit a comment at your convenience at http://westcountytransitstudy.com/contact-english/.

This is your opportunity to help shape the future of West County transportation. Make sure your voice is heard!

City of San Pablo is proud to be a key partner in the West County High-Capacity Transit Study. This study will evaluate public transportation options and identify funding opportunities to expand transit service and access for West Contra Costa County. The study’s final proposal will identify one or more projects to improve the quality and effectiveness of transit in West County, expand alternatives to driving on congested streets and highways, and improve regional air quality.

The study is sponsored by the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC), the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA), the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART), and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). Other key partners include the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit), the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA/Amtrak), the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and the Western Contra Costa Transit Authority (WestCAT).
